Master Tammy Trudeau, owner of Troy Martial Arts, has over 20 years of experience in teaching martial arts, has tested and awarded over 3000 belts to her students, and is a role model for all of her students. Her perseverance, confidence, and ability is unsurpassed, and she continues to excel in all areas of martial arts. Master Trudeau is a USA Certified National Coach, and is Vice-Chairman of the Michigan Tae Kwon Do Association. Master Trudeau participates or teaches all classes, and facilitates a team of lead instructors (seen below). She also is the primary cardio-kickboxing instructor. She is untiring in her quest to make all her students the best they can be. Master Trudeau plays many roles at the school, including instructor, adviser, friend, confidant, and mom to all the students. Most recently, Master Trudeau presented a team of 35 students at the State of Michigan Tae Kwon Do Championships, of which 32 of them were awarded 1st place and qualified for the United States Championships in San Jose, California. As such, it is well noted that Troy Martial Arts is an affiliated school with the United States Olympic Team. She has taught self-defense seminars to the civilian employees of the Troy Police and Fire Departments, and also recieved ground combative techniques certification from the Troy Police Department.
Grand Master Sang Sup Kil is one of the highest ranked black belts in the world of Tae Kwon Do. His credentials and reputation are world renowned. He is a 9th degree black belt, certified by the World Tae Kwon Do Federation. Grand Master Kil has more than 39 years of experience in teaching, studying and researching Tae Kwon Do. He is an International Master, Instructor, Coach and Certified Referee. He was the Korean National Champion between the years of 1965 and 1968. He was also a U.S. Army combative instructor from the years 1962 to 1980.
He has promoted more than 2000 black belts in his career, and has taught thousands of U.S. soldiers stationed in South Korea. Master Abraham Ahmed, who is now living in Michigan, was one of Grand Master Kil’s students while stationed in the U.S. Army in South Korea. Following his military service, Master Abraham Ahmed invited him to the United States. It was after moving to Michigan that Grand Master Kil became the founding President of the United States Han Mu Kwan Federation and Kils Tae Kwon Do Center, in 1980. Grand Master Kil has also been the President of the Michigan Tae Kwon Do Association, a division of the United States Tae Kwon Do Union, since 1993. In the United States he has trained thousands of students in his beloved art. He has also coached several students to the coveted title of U.S. National Champion. In 1982, Grand Master Kyo Yoon Lee, who has been the founding President of the World Han Mu Kwan Headquarters since 1953, appointed Grand Master Sang Sup Kil to become the President of the Pan Am Tae Kwon Do Han Mu Kwan Regional Headquarters. It is because of Grand Master Kils tremendous foresight and relentless determination that the world Tae Kwon Do Movement is at unparalleled heights today. Grand Master Kils continuous outpouring of knowledge, and steadfast desire to popularize Tae Kwon Do, has culminated with the prestigious status of the Olympic Games in 2000.

Mark Jeffery began his training at Troy Martial Arts in 2001 with his two young teenagers. Tae Kwon Do, along with Kickboxing, became a 3X per week family activity that continued for many years. All are now third degree Black Belts and still train together whenever possible. Mark supports the sport as a ring official, attending referee certifications annually, and he competes regularly in tournaments. He is a certified instructor, Judge, and referee within the Michigan Tae Kwon Do Federation, and is pursuing his goal of fourth degree Black Belt.

Andre Tkatchenko began his training at Troy Martial Arts in 2006 with his wife and son. Andrei supports the sport as a ring official, attending referee trainings annually, and he competes regularly in tournaments. He is a certified instructor, Judge, and referee within the Michigan Tae Kwon Do Federation, and specializes in Sparring.
Caitlin McCarthy started as a participant in the Cardio Kickboxing arena at Troy Martial Arts, and has graduated onto both a lead instructor for Cardio Kickboxing, and a Tae Kwon Do student pursuing her Black Belt. Caitlin is a graduate of the University of Michigan, and that competitiveness is evident in her high-energized workouts in Cardio Kickboxing!
Nelson La began his training at Troy Martial Arts in 2008. Nelson excels in Tae Kwon Do, with his real love in the arena sparring. He can often be found in the Dojang instructing other students in the finer techniques of sparring and Tae Kwon Do. Nelson supports the sport as a ring official, attending referee certifications annually, and he competes regularly in tournaments.

Coach Trudeau has been coaching youth sports since 1978 (Little League, Connie Mack, and Babe Ruth Baseball, Pop Warner Football, and House Basketball), as well as coaching students in College Prep Courses (ACT and SAT) for the past 6 years. Coach Trudeau is responsible for all coaches and instructors on the Troy Martial Arts coaching staff (certifications, training, and background checks), as well as organizing the tournaments and events. Mark is currently Quality Director for L-3 Communications in Ann Arbor and Salt Lake City Utah, and is certified as a Six Sigma Master Black Belt through Motorola and Eastman Kodak.
